Outside the medical ward.

It is no secret that there are many things confronting hospitals all over the Philippines.

Problems range from financial matters, healthcare reforms, the safety of both the patient and their families, the facilities, and the shortage of personnel because of brain drain.

This photo somehow tells a story of one or two of those problems. A patient (not shown because I decided not to show his face) and his family is outside the medical ward at the provincial hospital. Though the provincial hospital does not lack proper facilities, patients sometimes await vacancy inside wards. Imagine the ever-changing weather and the noise outside.
