March 29, Friday
At 1:07a.m. I got the email from the Arkansas Newswire. As always, I was awake, trying to catch up on what was happening back in the Philippines. I was excited that the Arkansas Razorback Baseball was going to be against the #16 Mississippi State Bulldogs. After their game against Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils, the Razorbacks’ record is 19W-7L.
With the ever present Facebook advertisements on the left side, I browsed through the newsfeed. Updates from CNN, AlJazeera, Fox News, Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, Reuters, Rappler, and Philippine Star almost flood my feed. While going over all of these, I was listening to the news on AlJazeera.com.
I got a call from Tito Rusty, a Filipino who works here in University of Arkansas. He asked if I would be willing to watch the baseball game with them. At the game, the omnipresent outdoor advertisements are easy to be spotted (the way it should be). It’s so hard not to mind them especially because they’re right beside the scoreboard.
